Keep Calm & Carillon
25/04/2021 — 26/04/2021
A carillon, transformed into a sculpture by artist Charlemagne Palestine, has adorned the ground floor of KANAL since September. The intention was to play this beautiful instrument on a regular basis. For an indoor live audience this is no longer possible for the time being. But a carillon cannot be confined! On April 23rd & 25th KANAL will present two concerts that you can listen to outside, in the public space around KANAL. The concerts will also be streamed via our webradio Studio K

Have you ever climbed to the top of scaffolding? Have you ever seen trees ... upside down? Have you ever seen a wood fire in… neon lights? Have you ever seen objects that become what you want them to be? And that then become your own work of art? If, as is the case with John M Armleder, art is a game to you, let's go discover his works together as we wander through the vast expanses of the KANAL museum: supine, vertical, upside down, dancing, meditating, in the dark, in the light, etc.

Desired Spaces
07/10/2020 — 08/10/2020
On Wednesday October 7, ICA, CIVA and VAi will follow up on the "Desired Spaces" open call for projects, launched in May, with a day-long debate at Kanal-Centre Pompidou. This call, launched by the three Belgian architecture institutes, aimed to collect, in response to the current crisis, possible future scenarios for a built and non-built environment. 180 contributions, a series in the newspaper Le Soir and a summer of reflection later, the institutes pursue this inspiring momentum with a first event.
